ONE TUTORIAL A DAY FOR 31 DAYS – DAY 26 OF MY JOURNEY – INSPIRED BY IRISES

Inspired by Irises

Hello. In the present my journey is more like climbing a mountain: I know that I’m not on top of the mountain yet, but I feel exhausted and all I want to do is sit and enjoy the landscape. Well, I will be enjoying the landscape as we are preparing to go on a 4 day trip to the South of France (Nice, Antibes, Cannes). I hope to come back reinvigorated.

I liked very much the result of the combination between the metallic foil and the alcohol ink. So I wanted to explore more possibilities: gold metallic foil and alcohol inks. While browsing for patterns, I found this wonderful free pattern of an Iris (http://stainedglasspatterns.org/displayimage-search-0-0.html) and it was just perfect for my project.

Materials and tools: black Fimo Professional Polymer Clay, the Iris free pattern, a wooden stick, gold metallic foil, a texture plate, liquid Fimo, alcohol inks, triple thick varnish.

I conditioned the polymer clay. I printed two images (of the desired size) and put them on the clay.

I cut the desired shapes.

I took of the paper and then marked a little more the lines.

I covered the pieces with gold metallic foil (pressing gently with my finger).

I removed the excess.

Now for the back: I textured a thin sheet of polymer clay using a texture sheet.

I added some liquid Fimo on the back of the earring shapes and then put them on top of the textured sheet.

I cut the excess clay and before putting them into the oven I have made two holes (to attach the earring hooks afterwards).

Then I played with alcohol inks: a little bit of yellow, a little bit of violet, a little bit of blue and a little bit of green.

I also want to thank TheGreyEye for the nomination to the Creative Blogger Award, for reading my posts and for considering me and my blog to be creative. This is the post: https://thegreyeye.wordpress.com/2015/05/10/the-creative-blogger-award/. I think I am going to take care of this when I will be back from the South of France (with tons of creative ideas, I hope!).

Have a wonderful day!
