Hello dear friends!
I was in mood of making colorful faux glass pieces to contrast with the cold and cloudy weather outside.
I like using templates in my work and this lion template was the perfect idea for a faux metal pendant with faux glass insertions.
Use the right-click of the mouse and Save As to download the template and use it in your work with clay. It’s free for personal and commercial purposes.
This is the perfect project to use up your dark colored scrap clay, especially if you decide to go for a faux metal look. I’ve used silver mica for my project, but you can use golden, bronze or any other color of mica or no mica at all.
I used silver leaf and Pinata alcohol inks for the faux glass insertions and I have to say that it’s always fun to play with inks and clay.
In order to enhance the faux glass look of the insertions I used UV resin on top. I strongly encourage you to use resin and UV resin in your work. It will certainly allow you to achieve amazing results.
I personally love the contrast between the faux metal rough areas and the faux metal insertions. And I hope that you’ll like it too.
